How to Know When It’s Time to Break Up with Your Web Developer

Just got done fixing a server issue and discovered that one of my clients had moved on to another web developer.

I had no idea.

Their site looks great and I’m happy they found someone to take care of their website, but my mind is now swimming with emotions and lots of questions.

How did I miss this? Why didn’t they tell me? Did I miss an email or text somewhere? Are they mad at me? Will they respond if I try to reach out to check on them? Should I reach out? Did they spend a lot of money with the other developer? Are they happy with them?

At this point there’s not much I can do to try and get them back.

And if I were them I might have made the same decision.

If a web developer consistently doesn’t respond to your emails within a few days, you should break up with them.

If they over promise and under deliver, you should break up with them.

If they don’t even notice you broke up with them, it’s a good thing you broke up with them.

When you find a web developer that takes care of you, hold on tight.

And if you’re not happy with them, at least talk it out and give them a chance to make things right.
